Book Review - An Average Guy
An Average Guy by Kshitiz Sudhakar
Cover of this book and title was what attracted me towards it at first. But after reading it,I would say that the saying "Don't Judge a book by its cover" literally suits on it.
Although the cover designer has done a really good job but the same can not be said about the editor.
This is story of Neel who completely lacks determination, one who can not act upon his thoughts and turn them into real action. He rues upon his failures but never really tries to overcome them. He gets distracted by any and everything. An average guy is story of a boy who kept on downgrading his own life and even become the reason of its untimely end.

If the cover and the title sparks your curiosity, you will certainly be disappointed on reading the novel.
Narration continuously hangs between first person and third person.
Read this book and you will know why a story without proper linguistic aspects gets behind in the race when it comes to readers. Grammar, spacing, punctuation and the list of fault goes on.
Along with that story has many loose ends and quite a few times, you will find contradicting sentences which confuses the reader.
One positive thing about the story is that author had not tried to sugarcoat it and thus it has not turned into like many other flooding the market where no matter protagonist keeps doing,at last all happens well. Here, the author has actually emphasised 'what you sow,you reap'.
Only if the author would have looked into detailing and has observed upon the editing before getting it finalised, this story could have been much better.
Thank you for the frank review. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been completely honest with it. :)
