BARKHA PARIKH

Barkha Parikh is an IT engineer and computer teacher from Ahmedabad. With a sweet smile and Aura of love all around her, she is very beautiful person. She first got published with Minds@work 2; her 5 heart touching poems being a part of it.She has also been a storyteller in Drenched Souls - MoonLit matinee 2, Minds@work 3, Fallen Angels. Recently another one of her poem has been included in Winged Heart Anthology. Barkha is also an avid blogger. She declares herself as a bubbly, full of life, over emotional which is her strength and cold coffee addict which is clearly shown by her blog name ' U,me and Coffee talks '. Barkha is on her way to bring her debut novel this year and is very much excited about it.

Div - How will you define yourself?

Barkha -  I am a Happy-Go-Lucky Bubbly Girl but the statutory warning about me is that I am highly emotional (lol). Very small things make me happy and touch my heart like butterfly kiss of rain drops, walking in moon light, and spreading smiles. I firmly believe to Live in Present as its  Gift. People often acclaim me of being over-soft-hearted but being soft-hearted in today’s world needs courage and so I am here, courageous and optimistic.

Div -  What were your feelings when you first got published?

Barkha - It was unbelievable. It was the feeling which is very much as how mother feels when she delivers baby and gets to see its face for the first time. My first book – “Minds @ Work 2” will always be my first baby (other than my blog – “U, Me and Coffeetalks).

Div - Thing u like most about teaching

Barkha - I work for a Cause and Not for an Applause so I believe the thing which I like the most about teaching is Touching the hearts of little angels and Enlightening their Souls.

Div - Finally your debut novel "You,Me,We, Not meant to Be"  is on its way. Tell us something about it.

Barkha - Well well well.. It’s a real life incident of a writer turned into publisher. However, I would not reveal much of it at the moment… shhhhh…!!

Div - What is the best thing about writing?

Barkha - The best thing about writing is you get to romance with words. Words have a magical power. I choose to use mine to inspire, pacify, care and love.

Div - You talk about your mentor with high regard. Tell us about this beautiful celestial connection.

Barkha - Ummm… yes! She is a very dignified lady who has taught me various minute intricacies of Life. And yes, the connection is celestial and beautiful for sure as I believe that Mentors are Angels sent by God to our lives to teach us things which we need to learn. And I am a great Learner and she is a great mentor.

Div - Can you name her? Anyone from writing industry?

Barkha - Name…aaha! Wait for 6 more months and the entire industry shall know her name.

Div - Your blog name U,ME AND COFFEEtalks clearly indicate your love for coffee. What other things u feel connected to?

Barkha -  Lol…  Yes I am a cold coffee addict to be specific. Well other things which I am connected to are very small things like books, hugs, cuddles, rain, stars, swings, kids, soft toys, smiles, love, cares, etc. In short any positive thing that money can’t buy and yet make me rich.

Div - How did u got initiated into literary world?

Barkha - Actually since, I was a kid I had a fascination for quotes and writing and I used to write 4 liners and short poems in Hindi and English and people always laughed at it saying. How philosophical you are! I did feel discouraged and then those writings remained confined to my diaries. Then after years, when my mentor came to my life, she discovered that I am a good writer and must write and blog. So again the spark of writing was ignited and then Facebook and blogging made the spark turn into fire and flames and the fascination turned into passion. Also, I would like to mention that Purple pen blog and their team showed me the way to get to it.

Div - If u r given a choice to be a Poet or a storyteller, what will u choose and why?

Barkha - Writing is a passion.  What I choose to is romance words, may it be for poetry or story. Still if you insist, I would choose poetry because I believe everything is poetic – right from the last crystal of sugar you dissolve in your coffee, to the first sip that you relish in your mouth, to the tinkling sound of spoon banging with the mug, to its aroma rising with the rising sun, to its rays kissing your skin, to the thoughts of a person you are lost in and to the moment you come back to real world and realize that your coffee got cold. I hope this explains it… lol…

Div -  Any advice you would like to give to young aspiring writers.

Barkha - I myself am a naïve and a learner as of now. Infact, I would appreciate if the aspiring writers read my work and give me tips where can I improve because I believe, those who are down to earth fly the highest and the branch of the tree that remains bent, bears  the highest fruits.

Div - It has been a wonderful and lively conversation with you. I on the behalf of everyone who is connected with books and Writing in some or the other way wish you luck for your debut novel and all future endeavours.
